Jib crane is a type of crane where a horizontal member (jib or boom), supporting a movable hoist, is fixed to a wall or to a floor-mounted pillar (post). It has a cantilevered boom that rotates around, and a hoist/trolley unit that traverses the boom and lifts loads for placement somewhere else. This type of crane also known as slewing jib crane.

A jib crane is helpful in a high-repetition lift process where an overhead crane would be otherwise tied up. These types of cranes are typically one to two tons, but sometimes reach five ton capacity depends on the post (pillar) or the building's column. So jib crane can be a supporting equipment for the main crane (usually overhead crane).

Because this type of crane utilize independent pillar, Jib cranes can be installed indoor and outdoor. Jib cranes often installed on the assembly line, truck loading & unloading area, and workstation area. There are two models of jib cranes :
